Niagara Falls Frozen Over 1911. Aside from 1848 the only other time it came close to complete freezing was back in 1912 when the american falls froze. However some water trickled from the falls while the other two were running normally.
Though this photograph is authentic but the claim is wrong. The photographs are genuine although the specified date of 1911 may be inaccurate. The card was postmarked august 25 1911 though the photograph probably wasn t taken in that year and bore the following caption.
It was only on march 29th 1848 that the water flow had came to an almost complete halt.
